Music

Generous with her time and her ideas, responsible, helpful and professional, Lorah was simply a joy and a pleasure throughout the entire proces .

Dance

Lorah has created sounds for theatrical productions collaborating with writers and directors proving her skills as an experimental musician with a broad range and also her wise spirit and good heart.

Spoken Word

Lorah is fabulous to collaborate with. We have worked together in various performance art projects over the years around themes of justice, healing and earth centered spirituality. She has provided musical accompaniment to many of my spoken word pieces tuning right in to the soul of the work with clever musical ways to express it. Lorah is fun to innovate with as she brings a calm and joyful presence to any project.

Oestara House
Artist Retreat

Yaccarino said that when she found her home in Brewster, it was chosen with the intention of establishing an artist retreat and restorative space for women. With that in mind, she named her home Oestara House, and has held several small day-long and weekend workshops there, hosting everyone from plein air painters to Reiki healers. The pandemic caused a few necessary adjustments to her original idea, and in 2021 she added a separate studio rehearsal space for both movement and sound.

Future Workshops

“On June 23 I will be doing a movement and music event at Oestara House studio with dance innovator Anne Bloom along with others,” Yaccarino said. “Both art and spending time in the natural world have the ability to take us to a deeper vibrational place. We are capable of so much more as a species. How wonderful it would be if humanity suddenly woke up to that concept?”

Lorah's Vision

Being able to take cherished morning walks with her dogs, 7-year-old Lady and 14- year- old Joy, in The Punkhorn preserve or along the bay is a healing balm for the musician, who also shares her home with two feline companions, Melina and Magic. “I love my animal pack,” Yaccarino said. “Animals are such a gift, and mine are fully integrated into my life."

Lorah's Self Care

"When I can find the time, taking my little Boston Whaler for jaunts on the bay is pleasurable as well. I also enjoy my proximity to Provincetown, where I can hang with fellow artists, cruise the galleries, have wonderful food and hear great live music. I think in these times it is important to know that I am lesbian identified, and I love supporting women’s spiritual/artistic growth along with supporting my queer community.”
